Since the ethnic disturbance started in the late 50's in what is now a war ravaged country, many mambers of this family have fled far afield to many parts of the world seeking safety and refuge. But, settling in other parts of the world is not a new tradition to this family, as can be witnessed from the many members now living in Malaysia whose forebears migrated to that country many generations ago, following the old adage "Thiraikadal odiyum thiraviyam thedu" திரை கடல் ஓடியும் திரவியம் தேடு which means: Brave even the oceans, in search of wealth.
